Annual Meeting 2020 of the Association of Heads of IB World Schools, India was hosted by JBCN International School Parel, Mumbai. About 40 Heads from all the regions attended the meeting.
Sandeep Chhabra, Head of the School welcomed the members. Students of the school welcomed the guests with a dance presentation of some forms of tribal dance. Vanita Uppal OBE, Director of The British School New Delhi presented mementoes to the host.
Sandeep Chhabra and the three Elections Officers from the three regions- Arjun Rao, Alka Goel and Samik Ghosh. Seetha Murty, President of the association welcomed the Heads and briefly shared the context and journey of the association since December 2015 and how it has finally achieved a legal status in the Indian context after it’s registration in April 2019 under Societies Act of India.
Frank Braccia, Vice President of the Association shared the challenges of reaching thus far and how IB lends support to this association now.
A virtual conference between Stefanie Leong Head of Development and Conferences at IBAP, Mahesh Balakrishnan IB Development Manager, North India, Emmanuel Moreno, IB Development & Recognition and Vinayak Sudhakar IB Development Manager South and West ( personally) interacted with Heads.
Updates from IB were shared as slides and questions from Heads on IBDP were answered.
A short tea break later, meeting resumed.
Chairs of the three regions gave a summary of the work done in their respective regions.
